Tri State Truck Center Unveils Sponsored Classroom at Universal Technical Institute
Exposing Massachusetts' Workforce to the Many Opportunities in the Trucking Industry

The Solution
Kevin Holmes, President and CEO of Tri State Truck Center, and his Team are taking the first steps in finding a solution to the impending diesel technician shortage crisis. Tri State is actively involved with Universal Technical Institute (UTI), in Norwood, through their classroom sponsorship, and engaging students to better inform them of the opportunities available to them as diesel technicians.
Tri State Truck Center is using their resources, and is encouraging other companies in the industry to follow suit, to make an investment in students’ futures. Students should know that there are companies in the industry that truly value their commitment to furthering their education to become well-trained, skilled diesel technicians.
To make a difference, it will take more than one company. There needs to be a call to action throughout the entire industry directed towards solving the crisis, and attracting new talent. Tri State Truck Center is not stopping at Universal Technical Institute. They are now focused on moving into vocational schools, specifically Worcester South High (Worcester, Ma). Students need to understand that choosing a vocational school is not something to be ashamed of. It is a choice that can lead to a very lucrative career, and a career that our Nation is dependent on.
